There seem to be so many more bad beats online than live. Is this because the sites are rigged for action, or because there are more hand played in a shorter time period online?

    1. When you start playing at a table online or at a casino, you’re in the red. After all, you have to pay the blinds. So how long does it usually take you to get in the black (have more money than you started with)? How long does it take you to double your money? The speed of online rooms and casinos is different, so let me know which one you’re talking about.

    2. I just started poker about a month ago, so I’ve been playing very low limit or even micro limit tables. However, sometimes I look at my profits and think “Damn, if I had been playing at a higher stakes table I’d have 10x more money right now.” But I’m wary of doing that because I assume that the higher the stakes, the higher the level. How much different is there between the different stakes tables? If I were to go from, say, a $1/$2 table to a $2/$4 table, would it change much? How about from a micro limit to a low limit, or a low limit table to a middle limit table?
    3. When you play, what’s your main objective: to play well, or to make money? I mean, would you prefer to play well but only make a 50% profit due to some bad beats, or would you prefer to play marginally well, get lucky a few times and make a 200% profit?
Yup, talking about hold em! But I also enjoy 7 card stud and 5 card draw, so any advice in regards to those games I’d appreciate!

Personally, I think that online poker is not real poker. It annoys the hell out of me. All these players that sit at their computer clicking a mouse and believing that they are poker players.

What are your thoughts? Do you think that online poker is as valid as live poker?

Ok, so I haven’t ever used any programs like Texas Calculatem before, and I’ve played online poker for like 2-3 years now, and played offline poker for about 4-5 years. Anyway, is Texas Calculatem a no no, so to say, for online poker rooms? My friend showed it to me, and looked pretty cool. Haven’t used it in any real money rooms, as it is a big advantage, and I don’t know if it is allowed. Tried it in play money though, and I do like it for the fact it calculates percentages. Like the percentage your hand will win over another players, or the percentage of you getting a pair, or straight, etc. I really could careless for it’s opinions it gives you, on what hands to call, fold, or raise. It just sucks in that department, to say the least. Of course you have to set it to your likings first, but I have only used it 3-4 times. But anyway, my question is, are Texas Calculatem, and programs alike legal for online poker?

    Thanks for the help,
    Matt
Most of the sites, like http://www.texascalculatem.com, and http://www.pokerbility.com, all say they are partnered with different poker sites, and they give promotional codes to get their software for free. In this case, it would be allowed right?

Ok here is my story with online poker:

I started playing poker at live casinos and online 8 years ago. I keep track of my earnings and i’m slightly over 18,000 USD at LIVE (not online) poker events within that time. However, I’ve deposited over 2,000 online and have NEVER, not once, cashed out online. I’ve witnessed things online that I never see in live play. and i witness them pretty frequently. I do not play online anymore as it just seems rigged and not worth it to me. It seems like i always start well for 2-3 days and then BOOM..it all goes downhill from there. I even tried this several times expecting this to happen, so i played EXTREMELY tight and managed my money well just so i wouldn’t lose it. Didn’t matter! Suckouts, (really bad ones) flushes beating trips, constant boats beating boats…even several instances of quads beating quads. Just unreal. I give it up and am sticking to LIVE poker where things seem to be fair and not so unbelievable. I played on Full Tilt, Ultimate Bet, and Pokerstars. Nothing seemed to change from sight to sight. It was ALWAYS do well for a few days and then just a huge ugly drought sucking me dry on each site. How can I consistently win playing LIVE and be soooo awful and have such bad luck online????? Hmmmmm…Ya i really wonder why lol. Any other opinions PLEASE feel free to share.
