The ante is the amount the house (or website i.e Coral) takes from each table, in a tournament which is $10 & $1 the house take $1 from each player, in a cash game where you can join or leave at anytime its a running ante, where they take money from each pot!
The rake is a portion of the betted pot in a cash game based on the amount in the pot during a hand.
An ante is an amount that every player has to put in each hand. A sit-and-go normally doesn’t have antes until the 5th or 6th blind level, but it depends on the structure of the game.
Normally, antes are used in larger tournaments (like the WSOP or WPT) where it is an encouragement for people not to sit on chips stacks and instead to force people to start playing, otherwise they’ll get blinded/anted out of the tournament and the tournament will get done sooner. This again normally occurs when it gets to the 5th or 6th blind level in a decent sized tournament.
Antes are used in any tournament (Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, any stud game, Razz, Hold’em).
hej tam, "ante" to kolejny wyraz "w ciemno" jest dokładnie taki sam, bez jakiejkolwiek różnicy. przejdź play poker! =)

I totally disagree with the other answers given.
Antes are different than the house “rake”.
